November 2024
COLOMBIA
Luis Antonio is a Colombian visual artist who came to Do Picho with his wife Johana Arango and 6-year-old daughter in November 2024, just after an exhibition of his work in Geneva, Switzerland (Robar el sueño),, which lasted two weeks.
He works in drawing and painting. His work has been exhibited mainly in galleries in Colombia and he currently directs the educational project Alto Relieve that promotes the training and dissemination of young art.
His artistic practice focuses on the exploration of dreams as a source of inspiration. The dream world as a symbolic space and the ambiguous and mysterious scenes from which he starts, aim to account for a poetic and personal reality that lives on in the dream.

A Sample of Past Work
The following are some examples of Antonio’s past work.
Antonio’s Do Picho Project
In Antonio’s words, the project The Dream of Others: “seeks to investigate the dream scenes that remain alive in memory and that for this occasion have a particular interest, and that is that they come from people from a European community very different from the one I come from: the Galician community.”
“Particularly the project wants to answer the question: What symbols, what atmospheres and what particular situations exist in the dreams of Galicians?”
“Within artistic work it is common to talk about the found object, that is, an object that triggers the artist’s imagination, motivating the creative experience through the free association of ideas. For this work we could talk in a similar sense about the dream scenes told by people.”
“The body of work to be developed in Galicia will be made up of small-format pieces, since these have a more intimate and introspective character, linked to the subject to be dealt with. Likewise, these works will be accompanied by other previously created works to integrate the set of works on display.”
