Why the Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon (podcast) came to Do Picho<\/h4>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The first time we heard about Do Picho [on March 29th, 2025], we conjured up a utopian image of what this place could be. The story had an almost unreal quality that made it irresistible. It was a tale with a touch of Quixotism that sparked our curiosity.<\/p>

That very night, we were able to visit the residence. It was then that we realized our initial expectations had fallen short. Do Picho presented an act of rebellion. And rebels are few and far between these days. Betting on rural life, pouring one’s heart into artistic creation, escaping the big cities and their glitz and glamour to live in the Ulloa in Central Galicia. Building a project from scratch, rooted in the local community, with the ambition to reach out to the world. That’s Do Picho.<\/p>

But Do Picho is much more. It’s a space that takes a stand, that steps up. Ultimately, neutrality is not an option here. Do Picho rebels for just causes\u2013\u2013the very causes that are in decline today. Its banners are what define us, the causes that will one day be recognized again as the guiding lights of society. Here, the Palestinian people are defended, LGBTQ+ rights are championed, and fascists are called what they are: fascists. Here, you feel that feminism makes us all better. Here, women of character are celebrated. In Do Picho, that is, in Palas de Rei, people say no to ALTRI [the Portuguese multinational that wants to build a mega pulp factory in the center of Galicia] loudly and clearly, making environmental protection the driving force behind everyday life.<\/p>

That’s why The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon<\/b> [El hombre que se enamor\u00f3 de la Luna] podcast had to win Do Picho\u2019s hearts and wanted to come to Do Picho. Do Picho\u2019s causes are our causes. Its values are our values. We felt capable of conveying all these values in a program full of diverse voices, of testimonies that would complete this diverse and authentic puzzle that is Do Picho.<\/p>

And that’s why we had to be in Do Picho in its home in Filgueira (Palas de Rei). To take on this challenge and make it a reality. To let ourselves be guided by this family that lives in the Ulloa and feels capable of anything.<\/p>
